How it Works
Step 1
Discovery Call
Book a date via Calendly above (or in the bottom right corner of this page). This will be the kick-off date to start designing the website. Before that date we will have a discovery call so I can get a complete understanding of your business needs and any problems you are currently facing. Once we are both happy that we are a good fit I start prepping for build week! 50% of payment is required upfront, 50% is payable upon completion and before the website is pushed live.
Step 2
Preparation
This is the most important part of our process working together. You will have 7-10 days to prepare and send all of your copy and images for each page, your brand logo and brand guidelines, plus product information (if choosing the VIP package).
I will recommend up to 3 templates for you to choose from based on the the nature of your business and your target audience.
Step 3
Delivery
On day 1, I will initially send you the Home page for you to approve. Once approved, I will work on the rest of the website and deliver the finished site on day 7. You will have the day to review the website and provide any feedback. 1 round of revisions is included in the price (assuming they are minimal, not new requests/additions and can be accommodated within 2 hours).
Once approved, the remaining balance is to be settled and then your website will be pushed live for the world to see!
Frequently Asked Questions
I’ll need access to your domain and hosting so I can set up the staging environment to build your site on. As mentioned above you will have plenty of time before the day to provide me the essential assets (copy, imagery, brand guidelines and logos)
Yes absolutely! These days it is less of a case of ‘mobile first’ and more a case of ‘mobile ALWAYS’. Your design will be fully responsive and look and function just as well on mobile as it does on desktop.
I will provide you links to video tutorials for any areas you may need support with to maintain/update the website. Previous examples of this include “how to upload new imagery”, “how to update text”, “how to add a new page” etc. In addition to this, I provide 30 days of email support from the day of launch.
Before we kick off we will have agreed on a theme to use so there will be no surprises when it comes to the look and feel of the website. If you require additional features or design changes they will be billed at an hourly rate of $100AUD. If you need to make extensive copy changes I can show you how to this yourself (it is super easy).
Basic image compression (making your photos as small in file size as possible for faster page load times). Alt tagging to improve SEO and Accessibility ranking with Google. Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions pages (copy to be supplied by you).
Whilst I recommend using photography or graphics that are custom to your brand, it is not a dealbreaker. We can leverage free image websites like Unsplash.com to populate your website. In terms of copy, I will need at least a rough outline per section, per page. I can work with a copywriter to develop the copy and make sure it matches the tone of your brand. Please note there is an additional fee for copywriting services.
I can work with most WordPress or Shopify themes. I will make a recommendation based on your desired outcome. Please note, if you choose a theme that costs more than $50AUD you will need to fund the difference. For licensing purposes it is best for you to purchase the theme using your own email and CC details. This amount (up to $50AUD) will be taken off your second invoice.
I will show you to how to do this. If you want me to design the additional pages I am happy to discuss the fee on a case by case basis, depending on the amount of content there is to add and the complexity of the design.
No. If you don’t already have one, you will need to register your own domain name and hosting. You can use this website (https://namechk.com/) to see available website names. This site will also show you the availability of corresponding social media pages/accounts.
I can manage and maintain your website for a modest monthly fee. This will include making regular software and plugin updates to keep your website as safe and secure as it can be.
